Director, Service Design at Capital One
As a designer, Iran loves to make things that are both useful and beautiful. As Director, she leads a team focused on scaling service design and strategic design capabilities across Capital One. She also enjoys teaching and speaking about service design, graphic design, and the intersection of making and strategy. She recently taught CCA’s first-ever undergraduate Service Design elective with AP alum Amber Reed.
Iran has practiced Service Design at Adaptive Path and Capital One for over 4 years, and has almost 20 years of graphic design and art direction experience across a wide range of industries and media, including retail, finance, advertising, tech, and the arts.
Her work has been recognized by design publications and organizations including the Type Director’s Club, HOW Magazine, Surface Magazine, and AIGA’s annual “50 Books/50 Covers” competition. She has a BFA in graphic design from California College of the Arts.
Sr. Director, Service Design at Capital One
Kendra is Head of Service Design for Adaptive Path at Capital One. Prior to that, she was Managing Director at Cooper, an award-winning design and business strategy consultancy. As an educator and designer, she has brought product strategy, design, and business innovation to companies, from Fortune 500s to startups, in a range of categories, from healthcare systems and medical devices to retail environments, consumer electronics, financial services, and enterprise management. In addition to developing Cooper’s groundbreaking UX Boot Camp, Kendra also created Cooper’s popular Design Leadership program, offering new tools for designers to lead and succeed in business. Kendra served on the Board of Directors of the Interaction Design Association and speaks at events and conferences around the world.
Lead Designer, Service Design at Capital One
Nick’s desire to understand the human condition and explore the diverse tapestry of human culture led him to the world of design. He believes that design is one of the key tools for addressing the human and business needs of a rapidly changing future.
As a Lead Service Experience Designer at Adaptive Path, Nick helps clients better understand how to connect with people, address their needs, and bring delightful service and products into the world without losing sight of the realistic.
Prior to joining Adaptive Path, Nick worked for Smart Design where as an interaction designer he crafted engaging interactive and service experience. Nick received his BFA in Service Design from Savannah College of Art and Design where he studied a number of design disciplines and holds an AAA in Graphic Design.
When not covering the walls of Adaptive Path in sticky notes he can be found crafting organic systems using permaculture, exploring nature, rock climbing, discovering interesting cultures, and teaching the tools of design to others. If there isn’t energy for any of that, you can find him curled up in a sunny spot with a good book.
